Institute for Cross-Strait Development (ICSD) was established in September, 2014. It is set up as a scientific research institution to service the national development strategy. ICSD implements the president responsibility system led by management committee. It has Technology and Education Division, Medicine and Health Division, Agricultural Cooperation and Promotion Division, Finance and Investment Division and Integrative Division. ICSD is committed to building up a high-end platform and being a first-class national think tank by relying on Tsinghua University, which has many cross complementary and comprehensive advantages of multi subjects. All strives to improve and develop cross-Strait relations through multi levels and perspectives.

Every year ICSD submits several thematic or comprehensive study reports to the national relevant competent departments about the practical problems to be solved, in order to give suggestions and provide the decision support. Besides, ICSD is working on building up a high-end platform for academic exchanges among the scholars, experts and successful entrepreneurs from the cross-Strait, and strives to organize premium conferences, meetings or any other communications based on hot topics in all fields. Meanwhile, ICSD publishes research reports in the main study areas regularly which reflects and introduces the newest research results and academic trends from cross-Strait and dometic & foreign areas. That has significant academic influences in the fields of cross-Strait education, technology, industry and so on. 

Institute for Cross-Strait Development (ICSD) was established in September, 2014. The good situation in cross-Strait relation today is hard-earned, and what we will do may be more difficult. As reform and opening up has entered a deep-water zone and has reached a new critical point, ICSD should undertake the historic mission of new period. With broader mind and wider horizon, ICSD puts heads together and learns widely from others to gather great wisdom, form new consensus and create a new prospect for peaceful development of cross-Strait relation.
